
The Province of British Columbia has removed data residency restrictions from the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA). This means that UBC is now authorized to use some software tools and services that store personal information outside Canada. Does this mean that you and your team can use any electronic system or application that you desire, regardless of how or where it stores personal information? Hint, the answer is NO!
